Google announced new AI shopping features for Search and the Gemini app in the United States on Nov 13, 2025. The update adds conversational shopping in AI Mode, automated store inventory calls, and agentic checkout. Details were published on the company's official blog.
Conversational shopping in Search and Gemini
- AI Mode in Search now supports conversational shopping queries and returns organized results with visuals, prices, reviews, and inventory details.
- Responses are powered by Google's Shopping Graph, which includes more than 50 billion product listings and processes roughly 2 billion listing updates every hour.
- In the Gemini app, chat surfaces shoppable listings, comparisons, prices, and places to buy in the U.S.
- Review insights can appear in comparisons to help explain product differences.
Let Google Call stores
- A new Let Google Call option appears for certain "near me" product searches in the U.S. Google uses AI to call stores and check stock, price, and promotions.
- Before calls, the flow prompts questions tailored to the product category.
- The feature is built on Duplex technology with a Gemini model upgrade that selects stores to call, suggests questions, and summarizes calls.
- Results arrive by email or text, along with Shopping Graph inventory data for nearby stores.
- Initial category coverage includes toys, health and beauty, and electronics.
Agentic checkout
- Agentic checkout is starting to roll out in Search, including AI Mode, from eligible U.S. merchants.
- Shoppers can track an item’s price by item, size, color, and budget. When the price meets the budget, Google can complete the purchase on the merchant site using Google Pay.
- Purchases occur only after permission and confirmation of purchase and shipping details.
- Initial merchants include Wayfair, Chewy, Quince, and select Shopify merchants.
Availability
- The updates begin rolling out on Nov 13, 2025, in the United States.
- Shopping features in the Gemini app are available today to all U.S. users.
Google credits Gemini models and the Shopping Graph as the core systems behind these features. The announcement was authored by Vidhya Srinivasan, VP and GM of Ads and Commerce, on the official blog.
