On February 25, 2026, Google unveiled an update to Circle to Search on Android that adds multi-object image search for on-screen content. The feature is rolling out first to Samsung Galaxy S26 series and Google Pixel 10 devices.
Circle to Search: key details on multi-object update
Google says Circle to Search can now identify multiple objects within a single image in one step. Users can circle, scribble or tap several items in a screenshot, photo or app view, and the system runs separate searches for each selection before combining the results.
- Users can select several items within one image as part of a single query.
- Circle to Search identifies each selected object, such as different fish species or separate fashion pieces.
- Results can include item names, related images, short explanations and links to external websites.
- For fashion content, circling an entire outfit returns separate results for clothing, shoes and accessories.
- The update is designed to surface more visual results per query, according to Google.
- Google reports that shopping-related searches are already among the top uses of Circle to Search.
In an example shared by Google, a user can highlight multiple fish in an underwater photo and ask how they coexist. Circle to Search identifies species such as Honeycomb Filefish and Moon Jellyfish in one interaction, then returns descriptions, supporting images and web links for each selected animal.
Visual shopping and virtual try-on
Google is also extending its virtual shopping tools to Circle to Search on supported Android devices. In markets where apparel virtual try-on is already available across Google product listings, users can access the same experience straight from on-screen content.
After circling an outfit, users can select "Try On" for eligible products to see how items look on model images that represent a range of body types. They can then virtually try on individual pieces without leaving the page or app they are viewing.
Gemini 3 behind multi-object search
Google attributes the new Circle to Search experience to its Gemini 3 model. According to the company, Gemini 3 uses planning, reasoning and tool use to process complex visual queries.
The system automatically identifies key regions of an image, crops them, runs several searches in parallel, then cross-references the results. Google describes this as an expansion of its "visual query fan-out" technique, where the model generates a final response that groups results by object. Each group can include images and information drawn from across the web.
Circle to Search adoption context
Circle to Search launched in 2024 on select Android phones, allowing users to search anything visible on their screens using gestures like circling or highlighting. Since launch, Google says users have generated billions of queries per month.
The latest update builds on that adoption by supporting multi-object queries and integrating visual shopping flows, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and Google Pixel 10 devices.
