Google has expanded its AI shopping toolkit in the United States, rolling out virtual try-on, granular price alerts, and an upcoming inspiration mode across Search and Shopping as of 24 July 2025.
AI-powered virtual try-on now nationwide
Shoppers can upload a full-length photo and instantly see how tops, pants, and dresses look on their own bodies within Search, Shopping, and Image results. A generative AI model, trained on billions of images from Google’s Shopping Graph, produces a composite in seconds. Google says photos are processed privately and deleted after 24 hours.
- Available for adult apparel from brands represented in the Shopping Graph
- No Search Labs enrollment or extra app required
- Live across all Google properties since 24 July 2025
Smarter price alerts and visual inspiration on the way
The new price-tracking tool lets users set alerts by size, color, and budget. Notifications appear across Search, Gmail, and the Google app on desktop and Android, with iOS support coming soon. This fall, an AI mode will suggest outfits and room designs that link directly to purchasable items.
- Granular filters replace the previous single-toggle alert
- Alerts sync automatically for signed-in users
- AI inspiration mode scheduled for U.S. release in fall 2025
Why it matters
CIRP estimates Google handles 55 percent of U.S. product search queries, giving merchants broad reach without extra technical work. Free listings are automatically eligible, and advertisers can tie campaigns to existing product IDs at no additional cost.
The rollout follows a June 2025 Search Labs preview and extends Google’s broader Search Generative Experience. Competitors like Amazon and Walmart require separate AR apps for virtual try-on, while Google embeds the feature directly in organic results.
